Overview

How deletion works

Account deletion is a verified workflow. We email a confirmation to the address tied to the account, you click the confirmation link, and the deletion is queued. After 7 days, the account and its associated data are removed from production.

The deletion workflow

Step 1: email the customer-care hub with "Account deletion" in the subject. Include the email address tied to the reading account.

Step 2: we send a confirmation link to the registered email. Click the link within 7 days to confirm the deletion.

Step 3: the deletion is queued. Reading-account data (bookmarks, captain picks, reading progress) is removed from production within 7 days.

Step 4: data-retention behaviour. We retain anonymised aggregate analytics for up to 12 months for editorial methodology improvement. The anonymised data cannot be tied back to the deleted account.

After deletion, you cannot recover the account or any of its data. If you change your mind, you would need to create a new reading account from scratch.

Operator-side accounts are separate. We do not have access to operator-side accounts. To delete an operator-side account, contact the operator directly.

Calibration in low-data tournaments

Low-data tournaments — bilateral T20Is, regional qualifiers, the early rounds of a multi-stage event — are the toughest calibration environment. Venue sample size is small, batter form windows are short, and the bowler rotation churns quickly. The desk treats low-data tournaments as a separate prediction target. We publish confidence bands that are wider than the IPL cycle, and we tilt the captain-card weight toward role certainty rather than form. The intuition is that role certainty is the most stable signal when sample size is small.Reading readers should note that low-data tournaments — bilateral T20Is, regional qualifiers, the early rounds of a multi-stage event — are the toughest calibration environment. The variance ride: a season-long view

Variance is part of fantasy. A season-long view helps: across a 74-fixture IPL, a 60% captain hit rate at 2x multiplier produces roughly 150-180 differential points per entry. A 75% hit rate at 2x multiplier produces 200-260. The difference between hitting the median and hitting the upside is typically one or two correctly calibrated differential picks per week. We publish a monthly variance review with the desk’s view on whether the season is running hot or cold relative to the model baseline.Reading readers should note that variance is part of fantasy. Operator consolidation: a 2026 reading list

Three editor-recommended deep dives on the changing operator landscape. The first covers regulatory consolidation at the state level — how state-level gaming acts are converging on the “predominance of skill” standard. The second covers operator-side M&A activity — which operators have been acquired, which have raised capital, and how the operator-side wallet behaviour has shifted. The third covers the impact on contest depth — whether the operator consolidation has reduced the variety of contest tiers, and whether the prize pool distribution has tightened.Reading readers should note that three editor-recommended deep dives on the changing operator landscape. How these notes connect back to the methodology

Each archive note has been audited against the editorial methodology on the Review hub. The desk does not republish sister-site content; each note is desk-original. The 4-factor captain model and the venue-and-match-up prediction model are consistent across the archive, so the recommendations on tournament selection, captain calibration, and contest-tier choice are cross-checked against the same backbone.Reading readers should note that each archive note has been audited against the editorial methodology on the Review hub. What stays, what goes, after deletion

The deletion workflow removes your reading-account data from production within 7 days. The data that is removed includes your email, your bookmarks, your captain picks library, your reading progress, your favourite hubs, and your notification preferences. None of this data remains accessible through the reading app or through the desk internal tooling after the deletion completes.

The data that is retained for up to 12 months is anonymised aggregate analytics — for example, the captain picks hub was opened 4,200 times in July 2026 or the FAQ accordion was clicked in 38% of FAQ sessions. None of this analytics can be tied back to the deleted account. The aggregation is done by stripping the account ID and aggregating at the cohort level.

The data that is not retained at all includes your email (used for the confirmation step but not stored after deletion), your IP address (logged for security but purged within 30 days), and your browser fingerprint (used for session management but not stored after deletion).

After deletion, you cannot recover the account or any of its data. If you change your mind, you would need to create a new reading account from scratch. The new account does not inherit any of the old account bookmarks or captain picks.

Operator-side accounts are separate. We do not have access to operator-side accounts. To delete an operator-side account, contact the operator directly. The desk deletion workflow does not extend to operator-side wallets, and the operator deletion workflow does not extend to your desk reading account.

Edge cases in the deletion workflow

Three edge cases in the deletion workflow. Edge case 1: the confirmation email is not opened within 7 days. The deletion is cancelled, and the account remains active. The reader can request a fresh deletion from scratch.

Edge case 2: the account has a desk subscription that is not yet expired. The refund depends on the subscription terms. Most refunds are pro-rated; some are non-refundable past a certain date. The desk emails the refund details within 24 hours of the verification.

Edge case 3: the account has an unresolved support case. The support case is closed on the day of deletion, and the case history is anonymised in the support audit log. The reader receives an email confirming the case closure.

Owner

Readers who follow delete account on SportsCricketFantasy often want to compare it against similar editorial coverage. Our long-form archive sits next to live fixtures so the same desk covers pre-match, mid-match, and post-match analysis without losing context.

Is Legal

Editorial standards require us to keep methodology transparent. Every chart, every ranking, and every projection lives next to its source data so the model output is reproducible. That discipline is the reason our pieces age better than marketing-led write-ups.Reading readers should note that editorial standards require us to keep methodology transparent.
